have full title to license patents related to packaging boxes for one or
more optical discs, particularly CD and DVD.
Philips and Universal have granted Business Development Europe (BDE) the sole right to grant non-exclusive sublicenses to third parties within the European Union with the right to manufacture and sell CD and DVD-packaging falling within the scope of their patents. Business Development Europe represents Philips and Universal in intellectual property matters related to the 'Original Jewel Box' and 'Super Jewel Box'.
